Every weekday morning at 8am, all family medicine faculty, residents, and students meet after pre-rounding for teaching rounds
Lunch is catered in on Tuesday for lecture over the lunch hour. Typically given by one of the family medicine faculty or residents
Surgery workshop is given by surgery faculty member, Dr. John O. Waits over the lunch hour every Wednesday. We also use this time for quarterly knot tying and suturing workshops.
Thursday lecture can involve a range of the following: practice management topics, journal club, patient safety/quality improvement topics, pharmacology updates from The Medical Letter. We also use Thursday lecture to hold a monthly residency meeting.
Friday Extended Lecture/Workshop
Friday afternoons are reserved for extended didactics time, guest lecturers, and workshops. Casting/Splinting workshops, Ultrasound workshops, Pediatrics Update, Practice Management Seminars are all common things that occur on Friday afternoons, in addition to occasional "flipped classroom" activities with state of the art simulators and online lectures.
