International Rotations

Residents have a month long international opportunity to gain valuable cultural and medical experience FOR ONE BLOCK EACH YEAR of their residency training to assist in refining their interests and envision practicing medicine internationally. CFMR displays its commitment to assisting resident education in this way by a $1500 reimbursement per resident to defray the cost of international travel. Our program has, from the beginning, had a love for people from every ethnē. It is our desire that many of our graduates not only serve among, but also pioneer projects among all peoples.

A resident may choose from an extensive list of rotations with our overseas partners, many of whom are program graduates and former faculty. 

For some, these trips will be “vision trips” to potential locations of service after graduation. For others, these trips will give valuable language experience and cultural exposure and broadening their understanding of international medicine and will help the resident know better how to support overseas workers.
