Urban Student Rotation

In Cahaba Urban, we see ourselves as being closely connected with our neighborhood and with the intentional Christian community here. We would love to invite you to walk alongside us during a two to four week rotation.

The experience is designed such that students spend part of their time seeing patients in our clinics and hospitals, doing legitimate holistic medicine and participating in prayer and devotional time together. We also set aside ample time for community-centric and spirituality-centric activities, e.g. spending time with community partners who run homeless and gardening ministries, time for spiritual care in the clinic, time for exploration of the past and present effects of racism in our community, the “food challenge” for which students use public transportation, the local grocery store, and fixed income budget to prepare tasty and healthy food, time for reflection and personal growth, and time for whatever else daily life in the community brings!

Students will stay in the Elim guest house

(Elim House, run by our faculty member Dakota Price and his wife, Kelsey) in the neighborhood where the clinic is located and most of our urban residents, faculty, and patients live.

Additionally we invite you to participate in our house church gatherings, weekly prayer, annual events such as camping for the Feast of Booths
